Welcome back to Pixar Week. For 14 days I review every Pixar movie leading up to Monsters University on Halloween (how appropriate), but its not just that. It is also the blog's 1 year anniversary! So enjoy, I'm Linus Schill, and this is my review of Toy Story 2.
These days, when you hear a movie is getting a sequel you groan, and sigh, and ask Hollywood "why??". Sequels have gained a bad connotation because of the numerous let downs us as the audience have received in comparison to their original. But you have the few cases where that doesn't happen. Some of them being Terminator, Back to the Future, Alien. And now Toy Story is another addition to this (hopefully growing) group.
A perfect followup to the fantastic universe create in the first, this movie brings in all new toys that add to the excitement. Also, we get to see so many new environments tat we would never get to see in real life, i.e. the airport luggage system, the cargo hold, the air vents in the apartment building. These great environments exponentially added to how much fun this movie was to watch.
The new characters are also great. We not get to see a antagonist human and an antagonist toy. Jesse also adds in a female character to the equation, which the first seemed to lack aside from Bo Peep.
All in all this movie was a perfect sequel to the original. I give it 10 ingredients, and it deserves every bite. Be sure to "Like" us down below, or on Facebook at Facebook.com/BLTFilmsReviews. Check out the other reviews in Pixar Week also down below in the red drop down menu, or at the top of this page. Stay tuned for Monsters, Inc. coming tomorrow. See you then!
